Watching the Cup

Advice on following the Melbourne Cup race on Melbourne Cup Day, Tuesday, 3 November 2015:

Following the Melbourne Cup 2014
LIVE
Race time: 3.00pm (AEST)

LISTEN ONLY:

RADIO: Listen to ABC Local Radio.

ONLINE: Listen online through ABC Radio - Grandstand.

WATCH:

TV: Watch the live free-to-air transmission on the Seven Network.

ONLINE: It was difficult to find a simple and free way to watch the Cup online last year. Telstra customers could check this Lifehacker site. Although the Melbourne Cup website provides a link to Channel 7 under "Free-to-air TV (live)" there is no indication there that the live broadcast will actually be online. Therefore you will probably be better off using a TV set. Don't depend on being able to watch the Cup online.

For more options see the Melbourne Cup Carnival website's Free-to-air and cable tv page.
